We believe that children learn through interaction with one another and the staff, as well as through hands on activities. We believe the child learns from his environment, interaction with others, materials used in the classroom and other areas of the center. It is our opinion that all children mature at different rates, and learning is not determined solely by the child's age.

A child's educational development depends on many aspects of the child's life, not only the pre-school's academic curriculum. For the child to grow emotionally, cognitively, physically and socially, we believe that learning comes through the support of parents and the community as a whole. Our goal at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Pre-School is to prepare your child for the structured environment of kindergarten.
